Day Thirteen

Baby will only stay in her Bjorn or Baby Nest carriers for 10-15 minutes max! Today, though, I did a 20 minute Ralph's run and she liked it whole I shopped! I think she liked seeing everything. Good job, P! :)

Day Twelve

Today Penelope & I went out to lunch with Granny Rose at Chili's. She was a very good girl, didn't fuss at all! We love when we get to see Granny, because soon she'll live very far away :(. That just means we'll have to travel to Muskegon, Michigan to see her and Papa!

Day Eleven

Penelope has been sleeping through the night recently: 5-6 hours before waking for a feed!

Goodnight!

Day Ten

Today was a sweet, relaxing Sunday at home, just us three.  Daddy ended up not having to teach a class today, so we all spent the better part of the day in our jammies & robes, Daddy studying and Penelope and I just puttering around the house.  Penelope helped with Daddy's studying for a bit, until she decided to start screaming. :)  We love having Daddy at home!

Day Nine

Yesterday was Daddy's birthday (the big 3 - 6!!) and we got to have him home all day long. :)  We relaxed on the couch watching Lost until it was time for Mommy & Daddy to go out for dinner (Japanese BBQ: YUM) & for Mana (Grandma Gayle)  to come over and watch her.  She did great while we were out!  Mama was worried for nothing, thank GOODNESS.  We had birthday cake, the four of us and Penelope slept pretty well.

What a great birthday!  Last year on January 25th, we were celebrating Daddy's birthday AND the news that we were pregnant (I found out on January 24, 2012) -- and now we're three... I'm so blessed!

P.S. The photo of Mama & a scared looking Penelope was taken by Mana who was laughing so hard at that cute little face! :)  Love it.

Day Eight

... Her baby carrier, I mean! It would be so cook & convenient if she did, but she always starts crying after about 5 minutes in it. :( Here's a pic of her enjoying it in those first few minutes!

Day Seven

Today Penelope found her feet. :) She played with them for a solid 15 minutes in Mommy & Daddy's bed this morning while I watched the news. It's awesome, because I have noticed she's been bored, but can't really play with toys yet. Or so I thought... Look at her with the new rattle!

My girl is growing every day.

Day Six

Today Penelope's Grandma Gayle came over to spend a couple hours with her- they took a long walk while Mommy cleaned the house and did some laundry. Penelope loves taking walks in her stroller, and after Daddy came home from studying (a test for work promotion), we took her on an evening walk.

Another thing, Penelope is fast growing out of her clothes! It happens so fast....

Day Five

Daddy's at work today, so it's just me and you, Penelope! We went on a few errands today: post office, to return a DVD, grocery store and a took a look around TJ Maxx. Baby was so good during it all, and she even napped awhile. We have been having good days lately, it's the evenings we need to work on -- Penelope gets fussy and doesn't like her evening naps. But, she has been sleeping through the night, so we're not complaining. She's such a good baby, we are so proud of her!!! I wonder if she'll have a sister or brother???? :)

Day Four

Daddy, Penelope & I went to Newport Beach today. We watched Daddy play volleyball. I didn't get a pic of Penelope, but she had a very nice time. :) it's January & it was 80 degrees-- we hope this weather continues!!

Day Three

Penelope and I drove up to L.A. today to see Daddy at the fire station (brought some In N Out), and then went to a birthday party afterwards.  She had a really nice time today, and didn't get fussy until she was just all tired out around 6.  When we came home, I decided to put her in the Bumbo, just to see if she'd be ok in it, and look:

my baby is now sitting in her Bumbo, happy as a clam!!  I think... she cried after a few minutes, but (at the time of this photo) she was totally pooped, had watery poop all up her sides and out her diaper.  I had to wash the Bumbo after I realized why she was so... wet.  Ew. Good one, P. ;)  Love my baby girl!!!

Day Two

This is Penelope watching Mommy do her hair this morning. :)  She loves playing with her new ball that Granny & Papa (my parents) bought her, but it frustrates her too.  She gets her little fingers tangled up in the holes and once she's flustered, she'll yell and I'll just take it away until she is ready for it again.  What a doll.

Today we took a nice long walk at the flea market; since it was 80 degrees, we didn't last very long.  Mommy didn't have her hat and it was crowded!  We went to the mall to finish out our outing, where there was air conditioning.  Penelope is always super calm when we're out & about, so she had a nice day.  It's currently 5:11pm, and my baby is napping -- I'm going to let her sleep a bit longer. :)

Here's Penelope at the flea market:

It's sideways, turn your head. :)

Day 1

This blog post is the first of the next 365, I'll post daily bits of my daughter Penelope's life.  I'll include a photo and (most likely a small) bit of info about Miss P and her day, what's new with her, etc.  I hope I actually keep up with this, as I'd love for her to have something to look at later (aren't blogs printable??).

Lately Penelope hasn't been sleeping well through the day for naps, but for the last four nights, she's slept through the night.  That means at least 6 hours (the most has been 7) without waking to nurse.  I'm floored that she's finally sleeping, but the days are so tough that we all NEED the darn sleep at nighttime!!  Whatever the case, she's gaining lots of weight, seems happy when she isn't fussing because I'm trying to put her to sleep, and is healthy.  I can't complain too much.  My baby LOVES to be out & about: the library, the mall, grocery store, or even around the neighborhood for a stroll.  It's being in the house for too long that irks her, I think. :)  We're sure to get out once a day for something so that she can see the world and be a happy kid... I mean look at that face!

Bye for now!
