Day Forty Two

I took Penelope for a looooooong walk today to the park, across the foot bridge, through the paths on the other side of the street, up to 7-11 for an icecream and back home. We were letting Daddy sleep after a long week at class. She slept almost the whole time, getting the ONLY good nap of the day. That means she's been grumpy since about 5pm. :/. Good ol' Penelope!

We also gave Penelope her first bites of rice cereal! She didn't really like it (see pic), so we'll try again soon. She did know what to do, though, which is great!

Day Forty One

Today in list form:

1. Wake up at crack of dawn.
2. Put Penelope right back to sleep-- she wasn't ready for the day.
3. Go to Costco where Penelope oogled at everything (see pic of awesome jungle gym)
4. Home for P's nap
5. Mama gets a chance to take a bath, lie down for a bit and clean up while P slept for almost 3 hours!!!
6. Made dinner and ate while P stared at me -- I think she's ready for solids.
7. Gave baby a bath; she is more and more active in the sink now and she's hard to handle, like a slippery fish! A cute one :)
8. Fed baby and put her right to bed. She's sleeping now, lets hope she stays there for the next 7 hours at least!!!
9. Hubs and I will now put on an episode of Lost and get some shut eye... Rest up for tomorrow: me with Penelope and Tom at class again.

Day Forty

Wow! Fourty days of Penelope! I have to say, she is such a pleasure to have around, so sweet and lovable. :) Today, we took a field trip to a few stores and listened to Mama's audiobook in the car -- P likes hearing the voices, and falls asleep. Win, win. She went to bed super early tonight: 6:40... We're nervous she'll be wide awake in the middle of the night. :/

Day Thirty Nine

Today, Penelope and Mama went to visit friends in Los Angeles while Daddy attended day of a week-long class. We saw Mama's friends Patty (and her two kids, Mateo & Lucca), Kathy & Elisha. We had a great time, and managed to get back to Orange County without hitting traffic. It was definitely a long, but fun day for us both. Penelope behaved really well all day until evening, when she generally starts getting more and more tired, but won't sleep. It can't be fun for her, so I feel badly. :( I think she needs an earlier bedtime.... We'll see.

Day Thirty Eight

We had a nice Sunday together... We woke early to take Mana to the airport-- she's going to Oakland to spend time with Lily while Holly works. Afterwards, we came home so baby could nap, then went to Castaway park and enjoyed a beautiful, sunny, windy walk along the bluffs. We had an early dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Penelope was so well behaved! We decided it was about time and put Penelope in her new playthingy -- see pic -- she loves it! We then all snuggled on the sofa to watch Dateline before bed... If only every Sunday could be that way!

Penelope is now crying, time for bed! G'nite!

Day Thirty Seven

Today Penelope slept in until 9:30! A big deal, since Mama got to sleep in too. ;) Daddy was home, and we just had a relaxing day around the house.

One thing to report: Penelope has begun to roll over from her back to her belly! She has trouble getting her arms up and out, though, so she needs help still. My baby is growing so fast, her little cheeks seem bigger every day!

Day Thirty Six

Daddy surprised Mommy with a spa/hair day! It was a nice surprise, and that left Penelope with Daddy all morning, they went to the park and had fun! Also, Daddy got P down for a nap unswaddled and in her crib! Very impressive, I have to say. What a day.... This Mama is so very happy and grateful to have such an awesome family... The best husband ever!!!

Day Thirty Five

Penelope was so happy to see her Daddy today, he was away two days! She also saw Mana today instead of on the regular day, Wednesday. They took a nice long walk to the park and P had a nice nap.

Day Thirty Four

Poor Penelope had a rough night-- up lots, and fitful sleep. Once she was asleep, she slept in until 8:30 (after a night feed at 5am). We were slow moving this morning because of said crappy night.

We had a few errands to run and I decided to put some shoes on her, and she liked them! :) They were given to her by her cousin Lily!

We get to see Daddy tomorrow, and thank goodness, because we really miss him. His captain's test is on Saturday, and we know he'll do great!

Day Thirty Three

Today we had a visit from Granny Rose! :) We visited Target and had lunch together, always fun to be with Granny! She had one great nap, thank goodness.... Just hope her sleep tonight is as good.

Penelope had fun in the new chair Granny bought her, it's like her Bumbo, but with a tray and she loves it!

Daddy is away, and we miss him... Goodnight!

Day Thirty Two

Today was Penelope's four month doctor's appointment and immunizations. We arrived a bit early, so we took a walk (1st pic) up a verrrry steep hill! Dr Lau told us Little P was in the 100th percentile for her height! Our girl is going to be tall, we think. :) After her checkup came the FOUR SHOTS. My poor baby doll! She took them like a champ, though, I couldn't believe it! She surprises me daily, I tell ya. I think her Daddy and her had a talk beforehand that prepared her... See pic ;)

Daddy leaves for two nights tomorrow, so we'll be up early to see him off. Bye Papa! We love you!

Day Thirty One

What a day - Penelope had two good naps today, who ever knows why, though??? I miss the days of her EASY sleep schedule, but then again, she's pretty regular anyway.

We took the Johnny Jumper out of the garage today, and lo and behold, she was happy in it! :) Last time she hit her face on the tray, so we were glad that it worked out. Yay!!! I think Penelope is happier playing rather than just sitting there, helpless.

Day Thirty

Wow, a whole month has passed since I've begun P's blog! I'm glad I'm doing this, because time does fly, and before you know it, my baby will be a baby no more... I'll cry, so I'll move along now. :')

Today Daddy was at work, so we just did EBay work (shipments, see photo) and a quick run to Hobby Lobby (tough to do for someone like myself!). Penelope had a rough time falling asleep last night, I have a feeling it can be two things: either she's hungry and ready for solids, or she's teething. Yikes!!! I have the acetaminophen ready for tonight, just in case. We are practicing getting baby off her sleeping pillow and onto her crib mattress- next will be getting rid of her swaddle.... Not gonna be fun for Mama at all. :/

I compared a baby photo of myself to one of Penelope-- she's definitely Mama's girl!!!

Lets hope tonight is a better night.

Day Twenty Nine

Ah, TGIF, not that it means much around here. Penelope, Daddy & I spent the morning/early afternoon at home together. First we went for a nice long walk to Fairview Park to see the new pond there. It was hot outside, and P loved looking at thing outdoors. Once we got home, and after Penelope napped, Daddy was ready to study, so we went to the Newport Beach Library. What a nice, big place! When we arrived, Penelope promptly pooped and got fussy and began to talk/scream loudly and so we had to leave. We enjoyed one of Daddy's famous green shakes this evening and are almost ready for bed; lets hope P sleeps another NINE hours!!!! :)

Daddy goes back to work tomorrow-- wah! :(

Day Twenty Eight

Happy Valentine's Day! What a fun day, let me tell ya-- we began with some yummy chocolate chip pancakes (Daddy's specialty). Afterwards, me and Penelope went to the South Coast Plaza to give Daddy some quiet study time (captain's test coming up!) and saw the carousel, and a huge snake in honor of Chinese New Year. We had our friends Andrew and Bianca over for dinner later, and Penelope slept a full NINE hours!!!! This is one happy Mama. I love my Valentines!!!

Day Twenty Seven

Today was a nice day: Mana visited, took Penelope on a walk and had her riding in the Bjorn, we visited Costco, and had a bonfire at nighttime! :). Penelope isn't going down for naps and at night very well lately... We hope it's just a phase.

Penelope is liking her Bumbo more and more these days now that she can hold herself upright more. What a big girl!!! We are so proud of you, Penelope Frances. Mommy & Daddy love you so much!
