Day 262

Today is Sunday. It is Fall. You'd think we had a restful day indoors, with the cool weather making us feel like drinking hot cider. Ummmm, yeah, not so much. We had a busy day, and it was 90 degrees. I'm okay with a busy Sunday, but I'm OVER SUMMER!!!!!!! :/ I guess being 80 months pregnant doesn't help matters. This is Penelope's blog, but can I just say a few things? I am "tiny" as I hear every day, but I certainly don't feel tiny. Baby girl, who is nameless still (!!!!!!!) wants to kick and poke my organs at the worst times, like while I'm walking, eating, driving or trying to have a conversation and not look like I'm being harassed by a ghost. Ahh.... Okay, rant is over. I'm just so so sooooo ready to have out little angel here in my arms, where we can kiss her cheeks and watch her kick and thrash in her little Moses basket. :) Okay, now rant is over. 

Today we went to a flea market, but it was way too hot to walk around and enjoy. We decided to leave and bring Papa lunch, he was working on stuff at OCC, where he teaches class. We brought sandwiches, crackers and drinks and ate in his classroom where it was air conditioned!!! :) That's really all we did, P had to be home for a nice afternoon nap, and she was. We all lie down during her nap today, it seemed like the right thing to do! ;)

We are looking at some swimming tomorrow, among other things. We are really loving having Papa home for so long.... P has become very attached to her Daddy. She wants him when she wakes up, and won't let go until she's good and ready. She also follows him around and waits outside of whatever door he happens to go out (or in); she'll either bang on it, or stick her little fingers under it. Cute as heck, but not so cute when she has an I-want-my-Daddy-meltdown. I guess it'll happen!

Day 261

Today was a nice Saturday at home, mostly. Penelope & Daddy were up early, they took a walk to Fairview Park (see all the wind blown pics :)) and let Mama sleep in! Love them. We hung around the house all day, doing things we've been meaning to, even took a walk during the hottest point of the day (it was so hot, no wind by then), and then sat out on the deck for a spell. Later, we all got ready and headed over to the Spaghetti Factory for Grandaddy's 96th birthday! We were with a large group, and had a good time seeing family we hadn't seen in some time. Penelope did very well, considering we were there for two hours! She had some of my spinach & cheese ravioli, bread and we brought her milk & yogurt. She liked sitting at the table with everyone, she always likes that. 

Our girl is such a good sleeper (finally)... We only have to put her down in her crib at bedtime and she doesn't cry anymore, just goes to sleep! We are trying to cut out her one night feeding, and make her wait until 6am. My only concern is that she doesn't go back to sleep-- I'm SO not ready to be up at that awful hour. But, Daddy's been right about lots of these things, I'm listening to him now!! ;)

Day 260

Windy day in Costa Mesa! :) We had a nice time today visiting with Grandaddy for his 96th birthday. We went to his place, brought burgers & shakes, around 1pm. I think he enjoyed us stopping by, and Penelope behaved pretty well! She showed Grandaddy her new walking skills, and gave him a kiss goodbye-- very cute. ;) Later, we were just at home while Daddy worked on his truck. Our evening walk was nice because the warm wind was blowing, making it sort of feel like fall! We are ready for it! :)

Penelope has been walking more and more; it's safe to say she is a (cautious) walker now. She'll get up and wobble over to me or Tom, but then get so excited that she wants to run, and then it's all over! She's getting better at gaining balance before she starts, and is trying lots more throughout the day. We are so so proud of our baby!!! She'll be one year old in a matter of days... And I know she'll be a real walker by then. :)

Day 259

Busy, busy day... Kind of. :) We were up early as usual-- Penelope and Daddy are such morning people! I wonder if I'll ever love mornings like those two? Anyway, P spent the morning with her Daddy while Mama ran some errands. After a nap, we all went to my ultrasound. We saw our baby's cute little face, and we found out she already has hair! :) That just makes me feel like it is so so close now.... We are so excited to meet our little sweetie pie! P was showing signs of being ready for a nap, so she finally did later when we were back at home. I know she isn't ready to give up one nap during the day-- it's just too soon and she needs the rest. I think we'll enforce two naps again. Will help our whole household!! 

T took some pics of baby girl while we were waiting at the doctor's office. She was doing a lot of walking!!!! But, she also fell a lot... He caught that in today's photos. :) Also, a pic of baby sister... Goodnight!

Day 258

Ah, another day with Papa at home-- we are lovin' it. :) We woke up at 7:30ish and went right out for a nice walk to the park. We had our coffee, of course, we aren't animals!! Penelope loves walks, little would she know that today she'd get three! After a nice long nap, Mana came and took her on another walk while T & I went to the bookstore and to get groceries. We all ate dinner and then had another walk... We were some walkin' fools today! It's awesome, because walks are great, but for me it can be sorta hard-- I've been getting Braxton Hicks while we walk, and often baby likes to move around and kick my organs. Ahh... I'm a month away and I am getting pret-ty uncomfortable. Good thing P will be walking soon, hopefully she'll be easier to handle on her feet. :)

I took a pic of our cutie pie on our morning walk-- isn't she too much?! Oh yeah, she is now waving when we say "hello" & "bye-bye"! It's really cute. Goodnight.

Day 257

Another cranky-Penelope day... :( I guess she is either teething again, it just realized she hates her life. One of those. We were up early again-- no more sleeping in for us, and made Daddy breakfast. After that we had to get ready and go to Mama's prenatal appointment, which are bi-weekly now (bummer). Dr. Chu measures my fundal height, feels baby in my belly with her hands (she's still head down), and then checks her heartbeat with the Doppler (I think that's what it's called?) All the while, Penelope screamed bloody murder! Usually Daddy is with us, holding her, reassuring her the whole time that Mama's okay; this time, she was freaked out and let the whole office know!!! :) It's kinda cute, she doesn't trust Dr. Chu as far as she can throw her. She napped when we got home, and then we were up & off to Waterworks Aquatics for some swimmin'! P really enjoyed that, wanted me to let go of her!! She did some great (assisted) back floating, and didn't choke when we went under water. She just laughed and splashed. :) Daddy had class today, so was gone almost as soon as we were home... We ate dinner and then played until cuddle time before bedtime. Long day, but only because P was just a little off, and she wasn't terrible, just a little more whiny & clingy than usual. I hope she feels more herself tomorrow.

Day 256

Exhausting day. Passed out before posting, so now I'm doing it after Penelope's 4:30am diaper change/feeding. We had a good day, considering baby girl's bad mood today. She woke up happy, as usual, but went downhill fast. She wasn't terrible, just whiny and clingy enough to make the day feel a little longer. :/ We went to the library before her nap, and I let her out of her stroller to play in the children's room-- she likes that! She didn't know you're supposed to whisper in the library, so once she got to screaming, we had to go. Naptime! :) Later, we hung around close to home, as she just wanted to be held... I wonder if its time for more teeth? Or maybe she just wasn't in a great mood... Happens to the best of us. We're hoping for a better day tomorrow!
