Day 324

Back to posting at the end of our day... Just makes more sense for this Mama who can barely remember what happened an hour ago, forget a whole day!!! 

Today we had another short list of things to do. We went and picked up our Christmas tree, and it was pretty funny-- the boy who strung our tree on the roof of our van had to stand on the van, in front of where P sits. Well, she kept grabbing him!!! I kept scolding her (halfway laughing, it was funny!!), but she innocently just kept on. I apologized, but I don't think he even realized. :) We got back home before the rain soaked us, and Mana came with a yummy pot of beef stew! Nothin' like some good ol' comfort food during the rain. What a treat!! :) Penelope loved it, she especially liked the beef-- she's her Mama's girl! 

We have missed Papa, but thankfully he'll be home tomorrow. We'll decorate our tree, and begin to teach Miss P how to leave it alone. :) Should be fun!

Day 323

Yesterday was day one of Papa's two-day shift, and we sort of get back into some of our old routine, back when it was just her & I. She woke up, we play for a bit, and then she has her breakfast. After she's awake we get down to getting ready and going on errands. We had to make a JC Penny & Target run, and we had a blast. Shopping with P is such fun-- she sits in the shopping cart, we snacked on cookies, and we talk, laugh and sing. I have such a good time with my baby, even more now that she can express herself more.

Day 322

Well, blogging the next day is nicer because I'm not so tired, but now I'm kind of forgetting what happened yesterday!! :/ This may be a brain workout for me every day, or I'll go back to night blogging.... We'll see. :)

Yesterday we just ran errands. It's funny because we thought we'd be able to do so much, but we just did, like, two things on our list! It's funny, when it was just us two and Penelope, we could zip around town, no problem. Now?? We are lucky if we can get us all ready, diaper bags packed, diapers changed (again), and on one errand. Add to that Daddy's love of being in the stores during the holiday season (he really hates it), and we are barely out of the house at all!! :/

After Papa went to school, we had dinner and P had her bath in the kitchen sink (so  I could keep a close eye on Luciana). We read some books and played until bedtime-- Penelope's bedtime. What a good day, for all of us!

Day 321

Ah, yesterday was finally a cold Fall day! We all enjoyed it, but mostly by being cozy indoors with the heat cranked up, playing and eating comfort food! :) We managed to get out for an evening walk, but spent the bulk of the day inside. 

Penelope is babbling so much lately-- she's always "talking" to us in a conversational way, showing us she is so ready to talk. We have her mimic the words we say, and little by little she's figuring out how to make the right sounds come out. We are always so excited when she says something we asked her to! :) I have to say, though, I think "baby" is her first word, in that she uses it correctly, without being prompted. Like, she'll wake up in the morning and hear Luciana crying, and she'll say "bee-bee". :) She's saying Mama and Papa pretty well, too, but not as well as she will be soon, I'm sure!!

Day 320

Wow... 45 more days and I've completed a year of my little angel's blog!! :) So, as I mentioned on Luciana's blog (lucianarindge365.blogspot.com), I'm going to be posting in the mornings (or whenever I'm free the following day) now... It's too much at night, and this way I can maybe remember more with a clear head! With two blogs to keep now, it's just become a lot, especially when I'm sleepy. 

So, yesterday was a Tuesday, so that means we have Daddy home! Every Tuesday & Thursday he teaches at Orange Coast College, and we love having him home on those days. Next semester, he'll only teach Tuesdays, but for a longer block of time... We're still happy with it, because we can always count on those days.

We didn't do much, but it never feels that way! We planned on a walk at Back Bay, but after naps, lunch, getting everyone dressed and packed (diaper bags), the day is halfway over!! :/ We did a big Trader Joes trip, and that was it!! :) Penelope is always such a celeb at TJ's-- at least 3 or 4 people smile and talk to her, and she loves it. She has the sweetest smile, with her Daddy's dimple that just gets people. Lucky girl, she's also very cute, and it's undeniable... What can she do? ;)

After Daddy went to class, I give P dinner (Luciana is usually asleep), and then we play, read books, cuddle on the couch, and things like that until bed (7pm the latest, 6:30 if she's extra tired). We have that 2 hours together, alone, and it's nice. :)

Day 319

Today was Daddy's first day back at work-- Penelope & Daddy spend so much time together, I'm sure she missed him! Well, since Mana came over to take her to the park this morning, she didn't have to miss her fun time at the playground! :) They went to Vista Park, and when she came home, she went down for a nice nap. :) The park always does the trick to wear our little Energizer Bunny down. ;)

We had a nice day together, us girls, and even managed to run an errand together! With Christmas around the corner, we have lots to do. Thank goodness I've figured out how to get the girls around in the shops (see pic). 

Penelope was a good girl today-- wasn't too much for Mama to handle. There was just one moment where I had to think fast: I was nursing Luciana on the sofa in the TV room, and P fell off her little chair behind the love seat... I had to quickly put Luciana down and run over to P and untangle her from the chair and kiss her boo boo! :/ Still, nothing we didn't handle, and I'm sure we'll get better as time goes on. 

That's a for today, Mama is beat, and can't wait for Papa to come home in the morning! Night. :)

Day 318

Our Penelope had herself a good day today-- not that they aren't usually good, just sayin'. :) She woke up sorta early, and so she and her Papa went on a walk to get some errands done, and she was down for her morning nap early. :) Later, we went to a park and she played on the jungle gym-- had a blast, as usual!! She is learning so much playing, and is such a good little climber! :)

For dinner we had some roasted tomatoes & asparagus-- turns out P loves both! :) She's also working on getting her second molar. What a big girl!
