Day One Hundred Three

Oof, writing out 103 is long... Anyway, tonight's post will be short because its taken me over an hour to put P to bed and I'm exhausted :/

Day One Hundred Two

Today Penelope and I were up before the chickens & birds! We did our usual: get P out of bed (don't forget her blankie!) and go into Mommy & Daddy's room, change her diaper and give her a bottle. After she's had her milk, if she hasn't fallen back asleep (I keep our room dark), then we wake up for real. I put P in Daddy's spot in bed, and we watch some morning news-- she's quiet and we usually hold hands. After half an hour or so, Penelope starts to yawn and rub her eyes-- I make out room quiet and dark and rock her back to sleep. Sometimes Penelope will sleep for half an hour, sometimes two and a half. Today was a nice long morning nap, yay!! So, that's a small bit of our day. :)

We ran a few errands, and came home to clean up so when Papa comes home we can get right to huggy, kissy and pancakes!

Day One Hundred One

Today we visited Auntie Anita at her place in Marina Del Rey, Grandma & Grandpa came with lunch and we had a good time. Penelope had fun playing with her cousin Anabella, who has learned how to play gentle with her, and isn't jealous of the attention Penelope gets anymore! :)

We were home in time for evening bath, a few stories and hanging out before bedtime. Tonight, baby went to sleep without struggle.... I don't want to celebrate just yet, the night is young!

Daddy's still at work, and we can't wait to see him when he comes home on Tuesday morning! Tomorrow we'll do some errands early, and then get the house cleaned up so we can all relax together on Tuesday :)

The pics are of Penelope playing with her new sippy cup from her Aunt Deb from Michigan. She can't drink from it for real yet, but I'm letting her become acquainted with it so that she'll be ready soon.

Day One Hundred

One hundred days of documenting my little girl! It's been great, and I'm sure later we can look back at how fast Penelope has grown. :)

Today we had a visit from Grandma & Grandpa from LA, and they took Penelope on a walk to Fairview Park. She had a short nap in her stroller, and came home laughing.

Penelope has been having a hard time at bedtime the last few nights-- I'll put her in her sleep suit, give her her night bottle, and then her binky. By this time, she figures out it's really bedtime, and begins to SCREAM. Yikes!! I think baby girl is just aware of things now, and just doesn't like bedtime! Not a very foreign thing, I know I hated it when I was young, too. I just hope she outgrows this phase really soon!

Daddy's on a 3-day, so we're gonna miss him... Goodnight, Daddy, we love you!

Day Ninety Nine

Today we took Penelope on a walk to Fairview Park, it was a beautiful, sunny day! She loves being in her bike trailer stroller.

Daddy put her on a chair and took some pics.... That's really it, just another day at home :)

Daddy goes away for three days starting tomorrow, so Penelope and I will go to visit Grandma & Grandpa in LA.

Oh, also- I made Penelope more food since she's supposed to eat three times a day. Sweet potatoes, her favorite, and carrots. We'll see how she likes them!

Day Ninety Eight

Today Penelope and I had our weekly visit from Mana (Grandma Gayle for our new readers ;)). While they went on a long walk, I got to take a shower all by myself! Ahh, it's the little things!

Daddy had half day today (he attended a class), so we got to see him around dinner time, we love that! Later, Mommy & Daddy's friends Andrew & Bianca came over for board games-- Penelope wanted to stay up and be a part of the fun, and (against her wishes) Mama let her stay up till around 9:30! It was Penelope who wouldn't go to sleep... She was overtired, and when that happens, she has a very hard time falling asleep. :/ But, she finally got there, and all is well again. Lets hope she sleeps through the night!!! :)

Day Ninety Seven

Today Penelope and I went to Waterworks Aquatics for a bit of free swim, and had a great time! We ran into our next door neighbor, Freja and her grandmother! That was fun, we got to see how advanced Freja is, and how well she is doing in her intermediate class. :) We practiced back floating, kicking, going under water and splashing & having fun! Afterwards, we both had a really great nap-- we both needed it! The chickens woke Mama, but P got to sleep in, nice & long. Penelope is asleep now (at 9:24) and it always seems that she goes down to sleep well when Daddy isn't here to see! :/ She went to sleep pretty easily at 7:20, and only woke once for her binky-- as opposed to yesterday (when Mama & Daddy were trying to watch The Apprentice) she woke up numerous times before she fell asleep for good. We hope she becomes a consistent great sleeper real soon!

That's all for today... We hope to see Papa tomorrow, he may only have half a day, he may have to work though. Goodnight, Daddy... We miss you!

Day Ninety Six

Today Penelope saw Dr. Lau for her 6 month check up & shots. She grew so much-- she's now 14 lbs., and an inch taller! Her head circumference is bigger, too! Penelope only cried a little after her three shots, thank goodness.... Mama always worries about her and those darn needles. :/ After we got home, she took a nice long nap and then we had our evening walk (while Daddy's pizza dough was busy rising). It was a good day, and we'll miss Daddy tomorrow while he works.

Day Ninety Five

Today was a Mommy & Penelope day. Daddy was at work, so we ran lots of errands and were gone most of the day. We'll see him tomorrow, and he's making pizza! Yummy! ;)

The pics I'm posting today are of P when she was 3.5 weeks old, and now, at 6 months old. What a difference! She looks completely different! The pic of tiny P reminds me of when me and Thomas were totally sleep deprived, and just figuring out how to be parents. It was a very sweet time, but also very tough. I am so grateful that I have a husband who was awake with me lots of those nights, and who would often take over in the wee hours so that I could sleep. I love that I have a true partner, because BOY did I need one! Penelope was on vampire's hours! Thankfully she's come a long way: she's eating heartily (sweet potatoes are her fave), sleeping most of the night, talking gibberish, and just developing a sweet little personality. She smiles ALL the time, and LOVES to be with Mommy & Daddy. :) It works out, because we love to be with her, too!

I think it's worth mentioning that she slept through the night last night; no waking to eat. :) I usually nurse her at night, but she opted for sleeping instead, and I had NO problem with that!! We'll see what tonight brings.

Day Ninety Four

Since we were supposed to be in Las Vegas today, Daddy had the day off. We would have LOVED to sleep in, but I'm pretty sure those days are over! :/ Instead, we were up at 8, which isn't that bad, and began working around the house. Tom did yard work, front, back and pool, and I cleaned up inside, did laundry and unpacked our TWELVE bags from the weekend! We were pretty pooped, but went to Costco anyway. :) Baby girl had a good day hanging out with us while we did chores. She hung out with Daddy outside for a bit, and seemed to like that!

After dinner, we took a walk (pic), and we also took a few pics of Penelope sitting on our bed looking way too cute :)

Lets hope baby sleeps well tonight-- night!

Day Ninety Three

Ahhhh, we are finally back at home today (from Las Vegas). We were going to stay until Sunday, but we missed home! It took us around 4 hours to drive home, and Penelope was so well behaved. We all napped, then took a walk. Bedtime came a little late, but that's ok. :) What's NOT ok is that when we finally did make it into bed, a spider did as well. Yep, Mama almost died of heart attack. Thankfully Daddy the spider slayer was home, otherwise it would've been a verrrrrry long night for Mama.

Penelope is fast asleep, and now it's our turn.... Goodnight!

Day Ninety Two

Today was another long day, but not bad! :) We ate the breakfast buffet at the Luxor: YUM! After, we got Penelope to nap since she'd been up since 5am (early EARLY birdy!) and got a few winks ourselves. Penelope ate some lunch, and then we were off to the pool where we hung out with my mom, sister and her family on some astro turf! :/ We decided dinner at Buca di Beppo would be the best way to top off a fun day, and we were right! :)

Tomorrow we'll have our last full day in Las Vegas-- I wonder what we'll do?!

Day Ninety One

Longest. Day. Ever. Quickly I'll highlight and then sleep (P and Daddy are!). We went to Daddy's Leadership Academy graduation ceremony/brunch early. Mana & Grandaddy came with us. Straight after we drove Las Vegas for my Dad's retirement party. We made it here at 5pm, and Penelope slept most of the way! :)

We went to My Dad's party at 8pm tonight, and now we're back at the Luxor, all snug in bed. Tom and I have been up since 4:30am, so it's been quite a long one.

Day Ninety

Busy day today... Mana came to watch Penelope while Mama ran some errands. Then we had to pack for our weekend trip to Las Vegas-- it took a very long time!! :/ Penelope needs so much, and we must be prepared. Then getting ready for bed, I took these pics.... Goodnight!!! We have such a long day ahead of us tomorrow, I really hope we all get to sleep!
