Day 152

We are on a little holiday in Big Bear! Our sweet neighbors, the Fishers, let us use their cabin-- as an extra favor, they're looking after the house, feeding our chickens and using the pool if they feel like it! We drove over two hours and up a very windy mountain (I almost lost my lunch), and made it here safely. It's a really nice cabin, and we're comfortable here. :)  We will explore the little town tomorrow and maybe check out the thrift stores we saw on our way. The weather is hot during the day, and cold at night/early morning. We are looking forward to some fishing, hiking (Daddy will carry P in the Bjorn), treasure hunting, reading, and board games... Oh, and home cooked meals! It's just the kind of getaway I love-- us getting to hang out together, and be in a new place too! Penelope was great in the car ride up-- until the last half hour, she was whiny & tired (so were we).  She napped great, but sleeping tonight hasn't been so easy. I think being in a strange, new place is just a little scary for her. But, we have her right outside our room, and she's finally sleeping.
