Day 235

Today was awesome-- the heat finally went away (for good??? We hope so), Papa was home, and we went to an awesome place called Pretend City in Irvine.

We woke up bright n' early, 6am... 5:50-something if I'm being completely honest. :( Our girl is an early birdy like her Dad. After breakfast, nap & a bath, we were off. Pretend City is actually a museum, and once per month they have a babies only playtime-- from 0 - 18 months, and from 2:00 - 3:30. I was wondering why so short a time, but I got why later. :) Penelope LOVED it there, all the cool mini setups they had, like: police station, doctor's office, fire department (with a little truck!), a Wahoo's, and this huge room with lots of large, soft play equipment, things for the babies to climb on, under and through. Very cool, an it was where we spent most of our time. We realized that an hour and a half is PLENTY of time when you're running after a fired up baby, and I think she was in agreement-- she tried to fall asleep on our ride home! We kept her up so that she could have a nicer nap in her bed with some milk beforehand. :) We plan on going back to that place-- it's such a great place for P to play with age appropriate toys, and with babies her own age (even though they were all kind of just grabbing at each other!! Also-- the concept of sharing at this age is just non-existant) Daddy's idea, totally worked for an awesome afternoon.

We are still working on baby girl's bedroom, moving stuff around, getting her clothes and personal items moved over, and we're really enjoying it. I'm so happy Daddy is home for this... It's nice for us to have each other to bring ideas to the table. I have to say, he has done an amazing job with the power tools aspect!! We should be done this week, and hopefully that includes getting the nursery all freshened up and packed with her own things. ("Her"... She still needs a name.)

That's all for today. Oh! One more thing, Penelope actually sat through her Daddy reading her Green Eggs and Ham for a bedtime story. Very sweet! :)

Goodnight.
